Tania were facing a number of issues with their process and product, primarily Algae formation on their 5 Gallon re-cycled bottles.

The solution

Reza’s Industrial Solutions Team carried out an extensive survey of the plant and recommended a number of changes.

Firstly, we suggested the introduction of a direct in line Chlorine Dioxide Generator to treat all RO product water.

Secondly, we recommended they use a concentrated solution of Chlorine Dioxide as the primary step in the washing process of their.

The Result

A high number of positive impacts on both the process and the product at the Client.

• Removed need for Chlorine treatment of raw water using Sodium Hypochlorite at very high concentrations, which also meant the client could remove the SMBS chlorine removal stage.
• Removed the need for UV treatment of RO product water.
• Removed the need for Ozone Treatment.
• Client no longer had an issue with unwanted Bromates in their product and can now advertise their drinking water as "100% Bromate Free".
• Chlorine Dioxide eliminated the Algae issue on the 5 Gallon bottles as well as cut out a very lengthy and hazardous cleaning step of concentrated Sodium Hypochlorite at the bottle wash.

Overall, with an investment in some modern chemistry and dosing equipment, the client was able to make a monetary saving which gave a fast Return On Investment, and removed nasty chemicals and treatments from their process. The net result was a better, cleaner product, and a safer working environment for their team.
